LINGUAVIVA Group offers a wide range of services to help you adjust to living and studying in Italy.
HOUSING SERVICE
LINGUAVIVA schools offer an excellent selection of accommodation to meet your needs. All accommodation used by the schools has been inspected by a school accommodation officer and is of good quality. You may choose from different options: Homestay, Shared Flat, Independent Flat, Hotel Apartment, Hotel, student residence. Accommodation is available from the Sunday before the beginning of the course through to the Saturday after the course ends.
TRANSFER SERVICE
You may choose to be met on arrival at the airport of Florence, Milan Malpensa or Linate, Venice for Lignano. You will be met by our professional staff and will be escorted to your accommodation. This service can be requested upon enrolment.
ORIENTATION ON ARRIVAL
On the first day of your course you need to report to reception at Linguaviva or Linguadue at 8.45 am. Your first day will be a Monday unless there is a designated holiday on the Monday – in which case your first day will be on the Tuesday.
Your course will begin with an introduction which will include:
- A welcome talk and an orientation with information about the city, school, staff and school organization.
- An overview of school activities and excursions.
- A Placement test to determine your Italian level if you have some knowledge of Italian, so that you can be assigned to the most approriate class for your level of Italian.
- If you are a beginner student after the initial orientation you will start with your first Italian class.
- In the afternoon there will be a short walking tour of the city and school surroundings.
- Bring the following items with you on your first day:
- Your passport or ID
- Linguaviva documents
- One passport-sized photo
- Pen for note-taking purposes
PERMIT OF STAY – FOR LONG TERM STAYS / VISA OF TYPE D
If you are a holder of a long term student visa, within 8 working days after your arrival in Italy, you will need to apply for a permit of stay. Our staff will give you information and assistance in the process of applying and filling in documents for permit of stay procedures.
TAX CODE (CODICE FISCALE)
Our staff is at your disposal to assist you and give you information on the Codice Fiscale, which is a tax identification number used in all interaction with government agencies and public administration in Italy. It is a code necessary for all situations in which taxes must be paid to the Italian Government, for example if you intend to study at an Italian University or rent an apartment, buy a car, open a bank account.
OPENING OF A BANK ACCOUNT
If you need to open a bank account during your stay in Italy, our staff will be happy to suggest the different options available.
PERSONAL CARE
Our staff is friendly and supportive. They are happy to assist you in every way, from the moment you enquire about your course, until after you have finished your course. If there is anything we can do for you during your stay at our schools please contact us.
WIRELESS INTERNET
Free wifi is available throughout the schools for students that bring their own laptop. Students that don't bring their own laptop can use one of the computers that are available for students at our schools.
